The cost of work
Being employed is rather expensive...
I now have to pay to go to the Doctors...to pay full price for my medication... pay to go to the Dentist... and if that' wasn't shocking enough. My family now expects me to contribute to family events!!
I got a call from my mum on Saturday to let me know that my brother and sisiter in law where coming over for dinner also, that my sister in law was brining desert, mum was making moraccan stew, so I was in charge of nibblies!! .... a few seconds after getting off the phone ... it hit me.
No more getting let off the hook for being poor.
Shit.
Add to this the money I've had to spend on on clothes... I went and brought 3 new pants, 3 new tops and 1 new jacket) ... and being 'extra special' of course each one of those iteams of clothing did not come with a price tag under $40! I still need other things as well as possible shoes....
Also there is the fact that I now have to be more pro active in buying food for the week to take for lunch and have to buy all those 'easy to take to work things'. Containers to put stuff in. Breakfeast stuff as I'm not officaly awake at a time to eat breakfast and can't get away with "ohh well lunch is just in a few hours I'll wait" haha.
But the unlimate has to be the following.....
Anyone who knows me, knows I'm not much of a 'girly girl' I don't do the make-up thing and my hair style is low matience. I don't do my hair - hell I can't even remember the last time I used a hair dryer!
But today I decided that it was time to maybe start being more of a girl.
I brought make-up!!
Something I don't think I have done since I was in highschool. Sure I've brought lipsticks and that kind of thing - but never really more then that. The most makeup I have ever worn when I'm getting all glammed up is face powder (as I hate foundation), mascara and lipstick. That's about all you'd ever see on me.
I walked out with - face powder (as the old nutermetics one I brought just out of highscool had run out about year ago) ... but not just any face powder some new fancy one that cost a pretty penny (I like it). A new lipstick. Eye Shadow and 2 Eyeliner penciles! ... pluss a few fancy hair things!!
Kissed good bye over $100. WTF!?! ... man being a girl is expensive!!!
Thank god I'm working so I can actually afford all this!!! *wink*

Your job must be good though if you're going to all this effort, which I'm so happy for you about.
Although, you could answer you text messages. but you may not have any credit anymore after your shopping spree!!

good lord girl... i'm still not into the whole make up thing.. every now and then I pull out the old highschool nutrimetics product.. and think nah... but good on you - glad you're enjoying the whole work thing.. i have a tupperware catalogue if you're interested :p
